In North America, consumers can't seem to get enough of the latest high-end smartphones from Apple and Research in Motion. In emerging markets, however, the low-cost segment of the smartphone market is surging. Will North American smartphone makers be able to continue to upgrade their priciest products, or are the days of record-breaking profits coming to an end?
