Amazon inks streaming deal with Fox for TV, movies

Amazon announced on Monday a partnership with Fox to stream movies.

The e-commerce giant said in a statement that Prime members will be able to watch a broad selection of popular movies and TV shows from Fox, a unit of News Corp .

This brings Amazon's streaming library to 11,000 movies and television shows. It previously struck a deal with CBS , which brought its total content to 9,000 titles.

The Fox TV shows on offer will include 24, The X-Files, NYPD Blue, Arrested Development, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Ally McBeal, and newly available on digital video, The Wonder Years.

This comes as reports surfaced that rival Netflix struck a streaming content deal with DreamWorks Animation.
