Canada is expected to get access to a France-based music streaming service called Deezer in the new year.

The subscription-based website and mobile app claims it will offer access to 13 million tracks from over 2,000 labels.

It's expected to launch in Canada in by the end of January but pricing has not yet been announced.

In a rare turn this music service, which has been rapped by some bloggers for hyperbolic press messaging, will not be operating in the U.S.

In the U.K., prices range from about five to 10 British pounds a month, which is in line with its competitors including Spotify.

In Canada, Deezer will compete against the likes of Rdio and Slacker Radio.

Napster announced it was pulling out of the Canadian market last month after it was acquired by Rhapsody, which does not operate in Canada.
