The main website for Ontario's courts is back online after being hacked by a group calling themselves "Turkish defacers."

The ministry of the attorney general temporarily pulled the plug on www.ontariocourts.ca Monday following the electronic infiltration.

Anyone trying to visit the site was redirected to site with the picture of a man pointing a gun at the screen above the word "HACKED."

The website shared by the Ontario Court of Appeal, the Superior court of Justice and the Ontario Court of Justice was taken down but went back online late Tuesday morning.

A ministry spokesman says diagnostics are being done to determine how the intrusion occurred, and to prevent future hacking.

The ministry's main website, www.ontario.ca/attorneygeneral, was not affected by the hackers, nor were court services or trials.
