Yoshua Bengio, a professor in the department of computer science and operations research and Canada Research Chair in statistical learning algorithms at the University of Montreal, says we're making big progress in artificial intelligence. Indeed, AI runs iTunes, Google and Netflix. It's here to stay.
But where is artificial intelligence headed? And what are the risks for privacy and security?
"It's not perfect, there's a lot more to be done, but it works much better than what we had before and it's also more similar to how we think humans get to be intelligent," says Mr. Bengio of recent advancements in the field.
Recently, an IBM supercomputer was able to beat the top two participants on Jeopardy!, which Mr. Bengio says points to rapid progress.
